Redwood Acres Raceway’s Fan Appreciation Night Moved To September 9
Redwood Acres Raceway officials have decided to make an alteration to the raceway’s schedule. Fan Appreciation Night which was originally scheduled for Saturday August 27 has been moved to a new date, Friday September 9. Track officials had to cancel the original date in August due to CAL FIRE’s use of the fairgrounds as crews battled the Six Rivers Lightning Complex fires.
The move of Fan Appreciation Night to Friday September 9 will make that weekend a two-day event at RAR. Saturday’s event will feature the debut of the Gunslinger Sprint Cars to the Acres. In addition, the Upstate Bomber Series will be racing Saturday in the $3,000 to win Rumble In The Woods 50. The two-day show is being presented by Shafer’s Ace Hardware.
Entry to Fan Appreciation Night is free for all spectators. Late models, Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners will all be racing. Friday’s bomber feature will pay $500 with an additional $1,000 bonus on the line if Friday’s winner also wins the Upstate Bomber main on Saturday. Redwood Acres Raceway will also be doing a bike giveaway to youngsters. Nearly 70 bikes will be given to kids.
Tickets for Saturday’s race are $15. Legends, mini stocks and roadrunners will be racing Saturday night in addition to the Upstate Bomber Series and the Gunslinger Sprint Cars. Grandstands will open at 4:00 PM with racing starting at 5:30 PM on both nights.
