Racing Season To Finish Saturday At Redwood Acres Raceway
Only one race remains for Redwood Acres Raceway this year and that date is this Saturday September 21. The Steve Taylor Memorial Fall Spectacular will capstone the 2024 season at the Acres.
It will be a full night of racing with the Upstate Modified Series and Upstate Bomber Series joining local action featuring late models, Legends and mini stocks. The evening will conclude with the Hook’ Em & Sling Boat Race Of Destruction featuring RAR’s Pacific Towing going up against Ukiah Speedway’s T And T Towing. The big race is presented by Leon’s Car Care Center and Shafer’s Ace Hardware.
While the local divisions have not been racing for points this season, both the Upstate Modifieds and Upstate Bombers will crown their respective champions this weekend.
Sierra Furia has a relatively safe lead for the modifieds and barring any unforeseen circumstances, she should take the series title this season. Furia’s advantage over Trystan Mucci is 42 points. Sal Martinez is third in the standings, 82 behind Furia. Eric Price, Jr. holds fourth in points while Sammy Nuno rounds out the top five.
Things are much tighter in the Upstate Bomber standings with Eureka’s Jordan Krupa holding a scant three-point lead over Redwood Valley’s Terry Pittman. The championship will be decided between those two drivers as Bob Mook in third, Kadence Toland in fourth and T.J. Sorrels in fifth are all well out of the fight for the series crown.
Practice is scheduled for Friday September 20 from 5:00 PM to dark. Saturday, grandstands open at 4:00 PM while racing will start at 5:00 PM.
