Redwood Acres Raceway Season Comes To A Close Saturday
Racing action at Redwood Acres Raceway for 2025 concludes this Saturday September 20 with the Steve Taylor Memorial Fall Spectacular. Seven divisions will be taking to the track as the Mid-City Motor World Late Models will be joined by the Legends, Upstate Bombers, Upstate Modifieds, Jr. Legends, mini stocks and the Eel River Transportation & Salvage Dirt 4 Bangers.
The championship race in the Mid-City Motor World Late Models is a two-driver race between Brandon Barnwell and Jerry Peterson. Barnwell holds a 35-point advantage over Peterson. Third place is held by Joe Bonomini followed by Luke Hall in fourth and Christian Sanchez in fifth.
Scott Taylor will be hoping to take the Legends track championship Saturday night. He leads Mac Collado by 59-points. Chris Lawrence still has an outside chance at the championship but is 90 points behind the leader. Trey Daniels and Landen Green round out the top five.
Saturday’s event will also be the season-ending race for both the Upstate Bombers and Upstate Modifieds. Four Star Realty has posted a special bonus for Upstate Bomber drivers who two more than 100 miles to race this weekend’s race.
T.J. Sorrels leads his father Jimmy Sorrels by 21-points in the Upstate Bombers. Kimberley Rojas, Bob Mook and Raymond Taylor, Jr. complete the top five. In the Upstate Modifieds, Luke Hall leads David Furia by 19 markers. Christian Sanchez, Gene O’Dell and Charlie Collins fill out the rest of the top five in standings.
Pre-sale tickets for Saturday’s Steve Taylor Memorial Fall Spectacular are available at Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, JC Auto in Fortuna, McKinleyville Barbershop in McKinleyville and on RacinTheAcres.com. An open practice is scheduled for Friday afternoon between 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Saturday, grandstands open at 3:30 PM with racing starting at 5:00 PM.
